Library in a box

An 8-year-old girl, Mary Grace Coffman, while struggling with learning to read, approached her father about collecting books to donate to a school in Nigeria after being horrified by the news that these students don’t have their own library. Now, a year later and with her father’s help, more than 12,000 books will be traveling to Susanna Homes in Abia State, Nigeria. Not wanting to burden Chi Ekwenye, a friend and the director of the school, the Allen Coffman decided to make a full-functioning library inside of a shipping carton. Here the shipping container, which sits on land near the highway in front of the Coffman’s church, is revealed to Ms. Ekwenye.
